Go to the "Connections" tab and make sure that the "Connect to the Internet as needed" is checked. Make sure also that in the section labeled "Connect to the Internet using the following dial up connection" says "IMS" (or whatever you called your connection to IMS.)

Then, under "Navigation" there is a section labeled "Start Page" the start page will most likely be default to either Microsoft, AOL, or Netscape. It will start like this.. "http://" Make sure it says "http://www.imsinternet.net" This will allow you to see any messages posted on our homepage as well as give you a good place to start your Internet search.

Use the other images as a guide. The typical settings are shown.

Click Ok, until you get back to "Control Panel". Close "Control Panel". Now, close any other windows you may have open.

Then, Open Internet Explorer. You can do this by double-clicking your Internet connection (The Internet) on your desktop [or you may access IE (Internet Explorer) by going through the Start Button - Programs - (until you find IE)], then when the connect window appears and asks for your username and password, click cancel (or work offline) and it will open Internet Explorer anyway. If it starts a "Connection or Internet Wizard" to help you setup your account it will usually give you three choices. "Automatic, Manual, and Current" USE THE CURRENT option (or I already have an account with an Internet Service Provider). When IE opens it will give you an error message saying it cannot connect to the site .... This is because you have not dialed in to IMS yet. Just click ok and proceed.
