If you have Internet Mail (shown above) for your e-mail program, follow these instructions to set it up with IMS Internet. Open the mail program, if a wizard starts wanting to take you through the setup, continue with the wizard. Once finished, exit and return to check that the settings match these instructions. It should only take you through the wizard the first time. If the wizard doesn't start automatically, just follow these instructions. The following instructions vary depending on which release of Windows 95 you are using. Some will not have all of these tabs or they may be labeled differently. These instructions apply to the majority of users.
(Please keep in mind that for example purposes the information shown in the images reflect the setup for Poplar Bluff users. Dexter users should substitute dexter.net in place of imsinternet.net where appropriate.) First, Go to the Mail text menu at the top, then select Options at the bottom of that menu.
Go to Send, and make sure the option to "Send Messages Immediately" is checked. This
way, you will not have to send your message, then send it again out of the "Out Box". Then go to "Read" and make sure that the option to "check mail every ? mins" is set to check mail. Set this to about 3-10 mins. Go to "Servers" and make sure that the "Outgoing Mail Server" and "Incoming Mail Server" is set to "mail.imsinternet.net" for Poplar Bluff and Doniphan or "mail.dexter.net" for Dexter.
Next, go to "Connection" and make sure you are set to connect via modem, not LAN or manually. Also verify that the dial-up connection is your "IMS" connection (or whatever you have named the connection). Click ok and close all your windows back to the "Desktop" (where your computer is when you first boot-up.)
You should now be ready to connect to IMS and use Internet Mail.

Thanks for choosing IMS,
